In South Africa, Pretoria’s Eduplex (Educational Complex) is a mainstream school for the spoken-language needs of children with hearing issues, its classrooms having planned acoustics and optimised technology for learning.

Five children in each class are deaf, with their classmates benefiting from the school’s strong emphasis on language-development and listening skills.
